Following the belief that community partnerships are an essential element towards achieving long-term sustainability, The Hutong actively manages their own community partnership program, and can help other companies along in this process. The Hutong also consults for companies who wish to form long-term collaborations that align business goals with charitable needs.

Client: 8 Professional Women in High-Tech Field
Proposed Partnership: Children’s NGO that has established a domestic adoption program, foster home network and recently launched an education program in China-Wudaokou Location.
NGO Mission: To serve underprivileged children by placing them into families and providing them with education opportunities.
Special Request: Activity specifically related to women’s empowerment
Proposed Program: Classes and interactive activities for orphans
-NGO will provide a template for the activity. Material would include the objectives of the lesson/activity, points to cover, an interactive group activity volunteers would oversee, and a debriefing of the activity that the volunteer would facilitate. The activity will focus on a set of competency areas we are trying to foster in the orphan girls (communication, leadership, and teamwork skills are some of these competency areas.)

Entire volunteering time: 3+ hours.
Additional Details:
Activity to occur late afternoon (fweekdays) or on a Saturday (more flexible).
-Volunteers need to meet a representative of staff before the activity; NGO representative available for travel.
